It’s Pink Saturday again at Cottage Dreamer! Thanks to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for once more hosting this fun day of sharing all things Pink!

For years I’ve loved the painting of John William Waterhouse. He was a Pre-Raphaelite painter. Here’s a bit of the description of this group from Wikipedia:

The group’s intention was to reform art by rejecting what they considered to be the mechanistic approach first adopted by the Mannerist artists who succeeded Raphael and Michelangelo. They believed that the Classical poses and elegant compositions of Raphael in particular had been a corrupting influence on the academic teaching of art. Hence the name “Pre-Raphaelite”.

What I like about his work is the way he presents women as not only beautiful, but as strong. So, for Pink Saturday I found a few of my favorite paintings that do have pink in them. Enjoy!
