It’s Pink Saturday again at Cottage Dreamer! Thanks to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting these listings. This week we had the option of doing a post that highlighted Autumn – a bit of a break from Pink – though the wall I photographed my collection against is pink. Gotta get it in there somehow.

All of these collectibles are by Jim Shore and purchased from QVC. They are each part of an auto-delivery program. I love these kind of collections because over the year you sometimes forget what exactly is in the set and then you get a big surprise when the next installment arrives. I love Jim Shore’s work and between his items and my Roman Seraphim Angels I’ve got quite a collection.

Jim Shore Pumpkin Autumn Diorama

This is the first autumn item. It’s a pumpkin diorama that shows two Early Americans rejoicing over their harvest bounty. It has two small lights inside – though I don’t have batteries in it now so I couldn’t illuminate it – but will hunt down some batteries later tonight.

Jim Shore Cornucopia

The next Autumn collectible is a Cornucopia that contains five additional pieces. As with all of Jim Shore’s items he uses vintage quilt patterns to adorn his carvings. I’ve started collecting his ornaments and am thinking of making some small quilt blocks based on the patterns in his designs.

Here’s a picture of the five items that fill up the Cornucopia, a pumpkin, an apple, a squash, an ear of corn, and I’m not sure if it’s an orange or another apple. But they are intricate. :-)

Jim Shore Autumn Angel

Lastly is my newest Jim Shore Collectible – the Autumn Angel. Can’t wait to get all of them, I’m thinking of putting a shelf in my living room to display all four. She is just beautiful and I’m sure the rest of the collection will be just as stunning.

Jim Shore Autumn Angel

Here’s a full-length photo of the Autumn Angel. She has a very detailed scene of a farm on her underskirt. Jim has started adding little “charms” to his figurines. Above the barn is a small black crow. In front of the barn is a wheelbarrow with some pumpkins in it and on the other side of the scene is an apple tree with a basket of apples charm. The detail on this items is just incredible.

Jim Shore Autumn Collectibles

Here’s the three items that I’ll be placing around my home.

Hope you are having a wonderful fall and looking forward to all the great holidays coming soon.

And, of course, have a Wonderful Pink Saturday!

It’s Pink Saturday again! And as always our Hostess Bev has collected a list of great blogs that want to participate in the celebration of all things Pink. You can find more blogs listed at How Sweet The Sound.

The winner of my giveaway from a few weeks ago is Tina from Beansie Babbles! Congratulations. The package will be in the mail to you soon.

This week I received the Spring part of a collection from Jim Shore that I got from one of his appearances on QVC. I love his work and the way he incorporates quilt patterns into his sculptures. I think that this egg is just adorable. There are two very tiny bulbs in the diorama section – that don’t show up in the photos – that illuminates it. The bunnies are so cute and so is the quilt pattern on the back of the diorama. The other two in the collection that I’ve received are a pumpkin with pilgrims in it and a star with a nativity scene in it. I’ve forgotten what the Summer selection is so in a couple of months when I receive the next installment it will be a surprise.

Bev has asked us to feature another Pink Saturday blog each week. This week I’ve selected a blog that is filled with some fantastic crafts. The blog is Glitter and Roses by Ginger – and she’s even having a giveaway this week. Make sure to check out her blog.

Lastly, thank you for the many kind wishes for my son. He’s now back to work and is doing very well. He even went on a job interview yesterday. The contract with the current company is over and now he’s looking for something permanent. My hope is that he gets the job that’s right for him. Fortunately, he’s in IT and has a lot of great experience so he should be able to find something good soon.

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and thank you so much for all the great comments – they mean a lot.
