It’s Pink Saturday again at Cottage Dreamer! Thanks to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for once more hosting this fun day of sharing all things Pink!

I’m doing my own kind of Garage Sale – I’m going through the dozen or so tubs I’ve had sitting in my own garage for over a year. It’s about time to get the stuff into the condo. Now if I could just find the hutch I’ve been looking for to put in my living room for all my “stuff.”

Here’s one of the things I rediscovered, a beautiful compote with pretty pink roses painted on it.

It’s Party Time!

This week we are celebrating the third anniversary of the beginning of Pink Saturday started by Bev over at How Sweet The Sound. This weekly event that allows us all to share all things “pink” with each other has been a weekly highlight for me and many others.

Many, many thanks to Bev and everyone who has participated in this fun activity!

This week I’ve got three items to share from three different places I love to shop.

The first is a lovely pink vase that I got at Etsy when Etsy Cottage Style had their last Market Monday. It’s not very old and not from any company that I can tell, but it’s cute and pink and fits right in with my other “stuff” in my bedroom.

The middle item is a pincushion that I got on eBay and I believe it was from one of the gals who participates in Pink Saturday. I’ve not started using it yet – it’s kind of too pretty to start sticking pins it. I just have it sitting on the shelf above my sewing maching machine looking all pretty.

The last item is a small lamp that is battery operated. The shade is made of a wax and has a bulb inside that flickers. These flameless candles are so nice. It has an option where you can set it to go on at a certain time and then off six or so hours later. I purchased this through QVC.

Some online finds

Last week when I was visiting sites for Pink Saturday I came across two sites that I wanted to share with you this week.

The first site is Art Glehen which is the blog of Hélène Glehen and features her beautiful paitings of roses that are simply enchanting.

The other blog is Tina’s Enchanted Rose Studio. I took a quick see at her post for this Pink Saturday and she has some adorable tassles made from lots of beautiful ribbon and cherub figurines. She also has some pictures of pink roses. Can we ever get enough pink roses?

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

Two weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be included in Bev’s blog as a featured site. Thank you so much to those of you who came to visit and commented. It’s always nice to hear that you enjoyed something you found on my site.

This week I’ve got a graphic for you. It’s a scan I did of a vintage iron-on applique. And of course it’s got Pink Roses in it. There are many things you can do with it and since it was scanned at 300 dpi you can even print it out larger than the approximate 5″ x 5″ that is currently. I can see this being printed out on printable fabric and then turned into a pincushion, or part of a pillow, or even to decorate a pocket on a vintage-looking apron. Or you could print it out in the size you need to put into a mixed-media project.

I hope you enjoy this basket of roses! Just click on the image below for the larger image and then save that to your hard drive.

Each week Bev asks us to feature another blog and this week I’d like to mention is Vintage Porcelain Art. Amy does some of the most beautiful vintage-style china painting I have seen. Each week she adds new items to her blog that make me wish I could build an addition to my condo. lol Also, if you follow the link to her “About Me” you will end up on her “Me” page at eBay where you can see the other things she does – like murals, body painting, acrylic paintings, and more.

I hope you all have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

It’s the two year birthday for Pink Saturday! A huge Thank You to Bev at How Sweet The Sound for hosting our weekly celebration of all things Pink. Make sure to check out the over 200 sites participating in this week’s Pink Saturday!

What would a Party be without presents? For my Pink Saturday Giveaway I’ve got two items. The first is a ceramic jar that would make a very nice cookie jar or maybe some other treats. The top is has a basket handle and beautiful pink flowers. The base of the jar is a basket weave. The second item is a 6 foot garland of beautiful greens and various colors and types of flowers. Both of these will be a great addition to any “Pink” collection.

To enter the giveaway just leave a comment to this or any post on my blog. If the comment isn’t associated with an email, please include one in the post. Next Friday I’ll have my son draw the name of the winner and then will post it with my next Pink Saturday entry.

For our celebration, how about a bouquet of roses for Bev who brings us so much enjoyment each week.

Today I’d like to share some photos of part of my handpainted porcelain collection. These are newer items compared to most that I have. I purchased them from someone on eBay who, sadly, I haven’t seen offering any similar items lately. I do suppose I have enough “stuff” now – but there always seems to be room for just one more thing on a side table or dresser. I guess that’s why we call them collections – we really never stop wanting to add more – do we?

This first item is a beautiful china painted heart trinket box. I keep it on my nightstand and it holds my rings, a necklace my son bought me, and my gold stud earrings.

Another box is the follow egg-shaped one which has a very small vial inside for holding perfume.

Last of the items that I would consider appropriate for a dressing table – if I had one – is this perfume bottle. Maybe I’ll find room one of these days to put up a small dressing table so I can fill it with lots of “pretties.”

And finally, I have a really pretty mug that all, like all the rest, has been painted with beautiful pink tea roses.

Thank you for stopping by to see what I’ve got for Pink Saturday. Also, you might want to scroll down to the post below this to see what I’ve got for my Give Away. Each month Cindy from My Romantic Home is holding a give away listing for herself and other bloggers who want to offer something to their readers. Just a reminder, I chose to close my give away at midnight Eastern time so some of the Pink Saturday gang could make a comment to the post below and get a chance. So, mark your calendars for the second Monday in each month to see what the gals listed at Cindy’s are giving away!

Have a wonderful weekend!

PS – I would appreciate prayers for my dad – who is 88 and in the hospital down in Florida. He periodically has problems with breathing (congestive heart disease) and will be going through the usual set of tests. I know he’ll be fine, but knowing that there are others out there asking for blessings for him helps. Thank you. Sandra

It’s a very special Pink Saturday – it’s Bev’s One Year Anniversary of hosting Pink Saturday. A huge thank you to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting this fun day of sharing all things Pink!

I love handpainted plates – and just about anything else that is china painted. I’ve got a few dozen more plates stored away that I have to get out of the garage. Just never seem to find the time to dig through all the bins out there.

This is one of the plates that I did get my son to take a picture of before the plates were all packed away about a year and a half ago when I cleared things out to remodel. I’m still trying to get organized.

As I run across more of my collection I’ll be posting them.

As an added note, I wanted to thank those people who have stopped to post comments. They sure are welcome and I really appreciate each one.
